അനാഥന്‍
ഇത് ഞാന് വളരെ പണ്ടെഴുതിയ കുറേ വരികളാണ്. (കവിത എന്നു വിളിക്കാമോയെന്നു നിശ്ചയമില്ല). 1991 ലെ ജനുവരിയില്‍, നാട്ടിലെ പള്ളിയിലെ പെരുനാളിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് എന്റെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ പുറത്തിറക്കിയ ഒരു സപ്ലിമെന്റില്‍ ഇത് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു വന്നിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ ആവശ്യപ്രകാരമാണ് ഒട്ടും വശമില്ലാതിരുന്ന ഈ “കടുംകൈയ്ക്ക്”“ ഞാന് മുതിര്‍ന്നത്. ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ വെക്കേഷന് എന്റെ പൊടിപിടിച്ച പഴയ ഡയറിയുടെ താളുകള്‍ മറിക്കുമ്പോള്‍, മഷിമങ്ങിത്തുടങ്ങിയ എന്റെ സ്വന്തം കവിത ആരോരുമില്ലാത്ത ഒരനാഥയെപ്പോലെ ‘എന്നെക്കൂടിക്കൂട്ടില്ലേ നിന്റെയാത്രയില്‍‘ എന്നു മൂകമായി മന്ത്രിച്ചപോലെ തോന്നിയെനിക്ക്. പിന്നെ അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. കൂടെകൊണ്ടുപോന്നു-ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്ക്.

പ്രണയവും കലഹവുമിണചേരുമ്പോള്‍
ഒരനാഥന്‍ കൂടി പിറവിയെടുക്കുന്നു.

മാതൃത്വം മുലകളില്‍ കാളിന്ദി ചുരന്നപ്പോള്‍
കാപട്യമറിയാതെ അമ്മിഞ്ഞയുണ്ടവന്‍
പൈതൃകത്തിന്നുറവിട-
മറിയാതെ തേടുമ്പോള്‍
നെഞ്ചില്‍ ഒരു കുടം കനല്‍ക്കട്ട നീറുന്നു.
താരാട്ടുപാട്ടിന്‍ സരിഗമയില്‍
കാലം ശ്രുതിപ്പിഴ ചേര്‍ത്തുവോ.
പാല്‍നിലാവിന്‍ കുളിര്‍മ്മയിലമ്മയേയും
സൂര്യതാപത്തിന്‍ ഉള്‍മുനയിലച്ഛനേയും
അറിയാ‍തെ ആശിക്കുന്നവന്‍
ആരെയും കാക്കുവാനില്ലാത്തവന്‍
കരുണയുടെ കണികപോലും കിട്ടാത്തവന്‍.
അറവുശാലയില്‍ അജീര്‍ണ്ണം ബാധിച്ചവന്റെ-
ആഘോഷത്തിനായ് മൃഗമാംസമൊരുക്കുമ്പോള്‍
കുഴിഞ്ഞകണ്ണുകളില്‍ പശിയുടെ താണ്ഡവം പേറി
തെരുവോരങ്ങളില്‍ ആയിരം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളലറിക്കരയുന്നു
